Wye Valley Runners proudly present The Gords Six 2019
A wonderful mostly off road canter through the glorious Wye Valley
This years Gords 6, run in memory of Gordon Clements, will be held on Friday 21st June 2019. The race will start at 7.00pm.
RACE ROUTE – The race starts in Fownhope, a few hundred yards from the Recreation Ground. The route takes you along grass tracks following the River Wye, before climbing on tracks , a short section of road and then a further climb to the Caplar Hill Fort. After a sharp descent, the route continues across fields before finishing in front of the Pavilion at the Recreation Ground. The total distance is about 6.7 miles with 800 feet of ascent. The surface is a mix of grassland, woodland trails and a short section of road.
ALL FINISHERS RECEIVE A GOODY BAG AND MEMENTO
There will be separate races for children, before the main race, over a safe grassland course – distances 1k and 2k. Entries on the day £2
RACE AWARDS - There will be extensive age category awards - 1st, 2nd & 3rd overall male and female, plus 1st male and 1st female in age groups 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74 and 75+. There will be prizes for first mens and ladies teams, 3 to count
RACE HQ - Number pick-up, toilets, bag storage, refreshments, limited changing and shower facilities at the Pavilion, Fownhope Recreation Ground
PARKING - There is no Parking at the recreation ground, however parking is provided at the rear of Wye Leisure, which is a few minutes walk away.. There will be signs and officials guiding you on where to park.
